33% quota for women is old

Although women parliamentarians cutting
across party lines are still struggling to get the Bill giving 33 per cent
reservation for seats in legislatures for females, the Director of the
Delhi-based Indian Law Institute, Dr (Mrs) S. K. Verma, today made out a strong
case for more reservation to the level of 50 per cent.

of this district are much lower than the previous year as most of the paddy

Govt stops buying bajra,
farmers at mercy of traders

Though the Chief Minister had publicly
announced the government agencies would continue to purchase bajra up to
November 7 at the government announced procurement price of Rs 505 per quintal,
the government agencies have not only stopped buying bajra for the past one week
at the Gohana anaj mandi but the farmers are being compelled to sell their
produce at the rates around Rs 400 per quintal to private traders.

Noida, November 6
Three persons were killed while six were
injured in road accidents in Noida yesterday. Satyaveer, a resident of
Ghaziabad, was hit by a vehicle in Sector-62 while crossing the road, Sector-58
police informed. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead
by the doctors.

Bullet seized from
Japanese national at IGIA
New Delhi, November 6
The IGI Airport police arrested a Japanese
national, identified as Makita Masaru, with a .38 bore bullet from his baggage.
The Japanese national was planning to board an Uzbekistan Airlines plane
intended for Tashkent. The bullet was detected during X-Ray screening of his
baggage.
