The police, after receiving the complaint from the wife of the accused, apprehended the accused, Ombir (26), resident of Mohan Garden, this morning.

The absence of drainage and the incessant rain had turned the city into a happy breeding ground for dengue-laden mosquitoes, pointed out health experts here today. The revelation came in the wake of increasing numbers of dengue cases being reported every day. It was pointed out that dengue had already infected about 600 persons in the city.

Delhi Police activate election cell

The Delhi Police have activated their election cell under a Deputy Commissioner of Police after the announcement of the date for the polling to the 70-member assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The decision to activate the cell was taken following a prolonged meeting convened by the Delhi Police Commissioner, Mr R. S. Gupta, with senior police officers yesterday.

The Association for Prevention and Control of Rabies in India (APCRI) has appealed to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to replace the sample vaccine for rabies with modern tissue culture vaccine as it claimed the sample vaccine (nervous tissue vaccine) had been banned by the World Health Organisation nearly a decade ago.

PGIMS faculty pays tributes to lecturer
Rohtak, October 9
The faculty of Pt B. D. Sharma PGIMS paid tributes to Dr Gowhar Masood Drabu, lecturer in Oral Diagnosis and Radiology Department in the Dental College of the institute, who died in a road accident on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on October 5. Dr Drabu is survived by his wife and two sons.
