Bags from Aditya Enterprises to be displayed at Bridal Asia. The hysteria that is generated by weddings in the country has proved quite a boon for designers, jewellers and the like. Clothes, jewellery, accessories… there is not just a clamour to obtain these, but a passionate almost furious desire to procure the best, at least what the makers persuade you to believe is “for a chosen few”.

The old school’s idea of a wholesale lehnga bazaar in Chandni Chowk, may well be damned. “Fashion trends” dictate a designer trousseau Jewellery from Anmol to be exhibited at Bridal Asia at Hotel Taj Palace. and no true blue fashion freak would be caught dead at their weddings not sporting a designer label, the cost notwithstanding.

And with wedding season weeks away, the wedding planners have unveiled their fare. In the upcoming Bridal Asia, touted as the bazaar for the brides and the grooms to scatter their disposable incomes in there, will be “everything” one needs for a trousseau.

The event, scheduled from September 29 to October 1 at the Tap Palace, will have desi designers as also ones from across the border showcasing their best.

Prior to the exhibition for the first time there will be three fashion sequences on September 25, 27 and 29. These shows will showcase the bridal look for 2003, and will be open to a “select and highly classified audience”. The others may well brush up on the topography of the wholesale markets.
