Kidnappers of schoolboy held
Harkaran Singh SAS Nagar, August 26
The police has arrested a father and son duo for kidnapping a schoolboy yesterday for a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. The boy was rescued by the police from the clutches of the kidnappers last night.

CBI to step up probe against Adviser
Chandigarh, August 26
Even as bureaucratic circles in Chandigarh are abuzz with speculation whether or not the Adviser to the UT Administrator, Mr Virendra Singh, will continue to hold the post, the Central Bureau of Investigation has said it will probe further into the assets of the Adviser.

Baljit Singh Ram Darbar murder accused surrenders

Baljit Singh alias Soni, one of the accused in the murder of Jagdish alias, Rinku yesterday in Ram Darbar, today surrendered before the police and “confessed” to have been allegedly involved in the crime while another accused Sukhjinder, alias, Chhotu is on the run.

HMT chief told to take action for losses

The Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises has directed the Chairman of HMT Limited to take action against nine marketing officers in the Tractor division of HMT, Pinjore, accused of causing losses worth over Rs 160 crore.
