Villagers frown upon power bill payment mode

Amid reports that the level of sub-soil water has been consistently going down for the last many years in the district due to insufficient rains and excessive pumping out of the water through

have failed to implement the rainwater harvesting schemes.
Fault in transformers compounds water woes

night’s downpour may break four-decade-old record

Sonepat city and its surrounding areas had a heavy downpour for three hours last night. It is likely to break the four-decade-old record. Such a downpour was reportedly recorded in 1964.

The Deputy Commissioner, Mr Balwan Singh, has expressed concern over the cases of cuts and breaches in the canal and directed the irrigation department authorities to take immediate steps to check them by intensifying patrolling on the embankments of the canals, distributaries and minors round the clock.
