The BJP MPs, Mr Rattan Lal Kataria, Mr Krishan Singh Sangwan, Mrs Sudha Yadav and Mr Ram Chander Bainda, have written in the notice that a meeting of the party legislators and office-bearers was convened at Faridabad for March 15. The notice says when the BJP leaders went to the venue where buildings were being demolished, they stopped at a distance. However, after some time a large police force led by the Additional S.P. swooped on the BJP leaders and mercilessly beat them up. During the lathicharge, Mr Kataria, President of the Haryana BJP, sustained serious injuries and had to be admitted to the emergency ward of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi. Kushal murder
case: accused arrested
Ambala, April 25 The accused would be produced in the court. Giving details the SP, Mr H.S. Doon, said the accused, Jaswinder Singh (28) was staying in their neighbourhood (H No 802, Sharada Nagar). Attributing failure in love to be a motive behind the murder, the SP said that unable to cope up with the separation from his beloved, Aneesha, the eldest grand-daughter of the deceased, and due to the hindrance posed by the grandmother, he reportedly committed this crime. Jaswinder, who had discontinued studies after class XI, was married to a woman, who was already married and had two children. He had been married for over a year and it was only a month and a half back that the woman left for her parents’ place. He was a truck driver and was in the habit of taking drugs. Jaswinder, who was not happy with his marriage, was in love with Aneesha for the past two years. Aneesha was 19-year-old eldest child of Rakesh and Praveen, both teachers in a government school in Punjab. The deceased, Kushal Sharma, who was not happy with the affair of her granddaughter with a married man would time and again oppose to their meetings and was also rude to the boy. The family, which was also not happy over their affair, had recently sent her to Chandigarh for studies. This was not acceptable to the accused, who admitted to the police that on the day of the crime, he had first gone to their house at about 10.30 am and had a glass of water and tea with the old woman. However, finding her alone, he came back a little later with the iron rod and hit her hard on the head, following which she collapsed and died. The SP said while there were no outer injuries on her head, the post-mortem report of the deceased brought out that she had sustained as many as 11 head injuries. The accused is a son of Head Constable, Balbir Singh, presently posted as a guard in the Vigilance Office here. |
Delay in
distribution of maths paper Ambala, April 25 A group of students belonging to Dua National Model School, Ambala City, pointed out that while the paper was scheduled to commence at 1.30 pm, students in Block B-2 who were to appear for the paper having English as their medium, were given the question paper at least half-an-hour late and were not given any extra time at the end of the paper. Kirti Walia and Brahmjot alleged that the centre superintendent snatched their answer sheets at 4.30 pm and despite repeated requests he did not give them any extra
time. Shikha and Shilpa were upset because as a result of this, their score was going to be low. The Principal of Dua National Model School, Ms Manisha
Minocha, demanded that either the affected students be given grace marks in this paper or the examination cancelled so that they could sit for the same paper again. |
