  DNA reports tally: police

The investigation in the rape case of a Shimla girl today took a new turn when the UT police said the DNA reports of the victim and the accused, Surinder Sharma, tallied. In a reply filed in the court of the UT Additional and Sessions Judge, Ms Sneh Prashar, the police has ruled out the possibility of the girl having been raped by M.K. Jain.

Sikh bodies protest against helmet order
SAS Nagar, December 10
A vehicle rally was organised here today by various Sikh bodies in protest against the High Court order making the wearing of helmets compulsory for women. The protesters, who raised slogans against the court verdict and carried placards, started from Gurdwara Shri Amb Sahib in Phase VIII. They were on scooters and in cars.

Harpriya arrested, released on bail

Harpriya Grewal, who was said to be driving the car involved in the mishap in which two PEC girls were injured, was arrested here today. She was booked under Sections 279 and 337 of the IPC but later released on bail.
