25 injured in explosion
Nasik, November 12
Twentyfive persons received minor injuries following an explosion of gun powder at Trimbakeshwar on the banks of river Godavari, about 29 km from here, yesterday. A big pit was created and power supply was affected as transmission lines were damaged due to the explosion at the Ahilya-Godavari sangam. PTI

Iraq house rejects UN resolution
Baghdad, November 12
Iraq’s parliament today unanimously recommended the rejection of a UN resolution strengthening the mandate of international arms inspectors, but said the final decision would be left to the country’s top leadership. AP

Uranium missing
Hyderabad, November 12
Seized uranium, stored at the Central Crime Station (CCS) of the city police here, was found missing, the police said here today. A portion of the uranium kept as stolen property in the CCS, which was seized two years ago from a scrap merchant, was found missing. The stored uranium was packed in plastic bags. An employee who went to clean the store room two days ago found the uranium missing. PTI
