Sports tournament in Ria

Youth should stay away from intoxicants and take part in games and village tournaments were a big step in this direction, said Mr Amrik Singh Dhillon, MLA, while distributing prizes to winners at a village tournament in Ria, near here.

The SDM, Mr Gurdip Singh, a Block Samiti member, Mr Harbans Singh Nanowal, the DSP, Mr Balwant Singh, the SHO, Mr Surjeet Singh, and the village Sarpanch were also present on the occasion.

Following were the results: kabaddi (62 kg) — Bhadla I and Jalajan II; 32 kg — Kakrala I and Dulwan II; 47 kg — Shamgarh I and Bilga II. Football 58 kg — Dulwan I and Khalspur II; Football Club: Dulwan I and Isru II.

The tournament was jointly organised by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sports Club (regd) and the gram panchayat, Ria village.
