Resentment over cancellation of exams

There is a great deal of resentment among the students of B.A., B.Com, BCA, M.A, B.Ed, M.Ed, Shastri, Diploma in Statistics, post graduate diploma in computer sciences, M. Com, MFC, diploma in vocational agriculture, MMC, MSc, and post graduate diploma in health, family welfare and population education as their examinations scheduled for today have been postponed to May 8.

The Dalit Dasta Virodhi Andolan (DDVA) has claimed of getting a bonded labourer, Sewa Singh, a resident of Jodhpur village, Abohar tehsil in Ferozepore district, released from the police custody at Kabarwala police post under Malout police station.

65 achievers get prizes
Ludhiana, April 26
As many as 65 students of the Satguru Ram Singh Government Polytechnic for Women, Rishi Nagar, received prizes for academics, sports and cultural activities at the fourth annual prize distribution function held here today. Top three position holders of five years were given certificates and mementoes. Harinder Pal Kaur, Sukhbir Kaur, Shama Malhotra, Navdeep Kaur, Jyoti Sharma, Pooja Sharma, Jaspreet Kaur and Rajbir Kaur, all winners of inter-state sports events, were given college colours.

Painting contest on drug menace

Encroachments on Mall Road removed
Ludhiana, April 26
In a bid to ensure more parking space in front of shopping complexes on Mall Road, the Municipal Corporation today removed unauthorised constructions. According to official sources, the MC team removed fencing at Surya Kiran AC Market; marble floor at Lodhi Complex; and a hump at Gautier showroom.
