Monsoon active in Uttar Pradesh New Delhi, August 19 Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan and at isolated places in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are — Himachal Pradesh: Kangra 1; east Rajasthan: Toda Bhim 5, Mount Abu 4, Shahabad 2 and Agai, Amer, Bassi, Ramgarh and Rajakhera 1 each; east Uttar Pradesh: Bani 20, Lucknow 6, Bhatpurwaghat and Palliakalan 5 each, Allahabad, Dalmau and Hanuman Setu (Lucknow) 4 each, Anmkinghat, Ballia, Biredghat, Fatehgarh, Gorakhpur, Sharedanagar and Varanasi 3 each, Ayodhya, Ghazipur, Mohana, Rai Bareilly and Sultanpur 2 each and Hamirpur, Kakardharighat, Neemsar and Shahjina 1 each; and Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 8, Banbasa 6, Marora 5, Haripur 3, Bausan, Hardwar and Pantnagar 2 each and Rudraprayag 1.
