Ghalib distributes development grants
Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, June 19
The Congress MP, Mr Gurcharan Singh Ghalib, today undertook a tour of more than 12 villages under the Ludhiana rural assembly segment in the district, where he distributed grants worth over Rs 10 lakh from the MP Local Area Development Scheme for various development works.

Addressing meetings en route, Mr Ghalib flayed the Punjab Chief Minister, Mr Parkash Singh Badal, for neglecting the people of Punjab and the vital issues concerning the state. “Now that the assembly elections are at hand, the ruling party is making a desperate bid to regain power by indiscriminate distribution of funds from government exchequer”, he said.

Charging the SAD-BJP government with perpetrating a fraud with the electorate, he said the poll promises of abolition of octroi and an end to ‘inspector raj’ had been forgotten by the ruling combine. He cautioned the people not to be misled by similar false promises being made by Mr Badal at his sangat darshan programmes.
