Southwest monsoon has advanced to parts of south Rajasthan. Heat wave conditions have abated from west Rajasthan.

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have been reported from most places in Himachal Pradesh, a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and from isolate places in Punjab, east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Barsar 6, Hamirpur and Nadaun 5 each, Berthin and Joginder Nagar 4 each, Bangana, Kasol, Sujanpur Tira and Una 3 each, Bharwain and Kangra 2 each and Gohar, Kahu, Kumarsain and Shimla 1 each, Punjab: Dasuya, Gurdaspur and Mukerian 1 each and Rajasthan: Kota 2.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in west Uttar Pradesh, fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, fell in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were above normal in west Rajasthan, appreciably below normal in Punjab, below normal in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 45°C recorded at Phalodi (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 15: Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh during the next 48 hours.
