Freedom fighter arrested
New Delhi, May 31
A freedom fighter has been arrested for allegedly misusing his Freedom Fighter Pass taking a passenger along with him by train on payment of Rs 1,000, the Northern Railway said here today. Naresh Pandey alias Nath Pandey, having a Freedom Fighter Pass number 495715, was apprehended during a raid by the police and railway staff on the premises of an unauthorised travel agent on Tuesday, it said in a press note. 1 dies of rat fever in Kerala
Kottayam, May 31
One more person died of suspected Weil’s disease at a private hospital in Idukki district of Kerala today, taking the toll in the current outbreak of “rat fever” to 11. The deceased was identified as Nabeesa Sayed (39) of Kaliyar. More than 100 persons are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Alappuzha districts for suspected Weil’s disease (Leptospyrosis). About 30 persons were admitted to various government hospitals in the state today with symptoms of the disease. Official sources said blood samples of the patients had been collected for further medical examination to confirm the disease. UNI

Molestation case
Bhubaneswar, May 31
Chief of Orissa circle of Reliance Telecom Limited, Raj Kishore Prusty, was arrested and forwarded to the court here today on charges of molesting a woman employee of the organisation. UNI
