CHANDIGARH, Jan 19 — The Chandigarh Amateur Cycling Association will organise the UT Road Cycling Championship on January 21 at Sukhna lake starting at 7.30 a.m. for seniors, junior (below 18) and sub-juniors (below 14). During this one-day meet, UT cyclists will be selected for the National Road Cycling Championship to be held at Bhopal from January 28 to January 31.
Kho-kho trials
The Chandigarh Kho- Kho Association will hold selection trials for the Senior Chandigarh Kho Kho team to take part in the forthcoming National Kho Kho championship to be held from February 4 to 8. It will be held on January 22 at Kho Kho Centre, Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 23. Meanwhile, the trials for the boys will be held tomorrow at Sports Complex in Sector 42.
Stay granted
Dr PC Kashyap, Regional Director, Sports Authority of India, who was transferred as in charge, Sports Sciences and Physical Education, at Delhi was granted stay by the Central Administrative Tribunal. It was stated in the order that the applicant has been transferred to lower post and was issued showcause notice for January 29, 2001. Meanwhile, Dr Kashyap and the new incumbent Mr Jasbir Singh both attended the Sector 42 office today. Dr Kashyap directed Assistant Director (Admn) to make available the office room for Jasbir Singh.
Kabaddi trials
Chandigarh Kabaddi Association will hold selection trials to select UT kabaddi team tomorrow at sports complex, Sector 42 at 3.30 pm. The selected players will take part in the 48th Senior National Kabaddi Championship to be held at Mandya (Karnataka) from February 7 to 11.
Badminton tourney
The Chandigarh Ball Badminton Association will hold the third Chandigarh Senior State Ball Badminton championship from January 25 to 28 at the Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45. Twenty teams are expected to take part in this championship which will serve as a basis for the selection of city team for the 46th Senior National Ball-Badminton championship. Entries close with Mr Baljinder Banwait on January 22.
Bridge association
The Chandigarh Bridge Association will have a team of four events at regional level on January 21 at sports complex, Sector 42. The association will also hold its general body meeting at 10 a.m. to have its new team.
