CBI moves Delhi HC seeking cancellation of Chautala’s bail

Badal to take up Sikh ‘black list’ with PM
Amritsar, October 4
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said he would take up the Sikh ‘black list’ with the Prime Minister. Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a sangat darshan here, Badal said he had already urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to direct the Ministry of Home Affairs to evolve a mechanism for a regular review of all such cases.

Heroin worth Rs 100 cr seized in Ludhiana
Ludhiana/ Amritsar, October 4
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Saturday seized 40kg of heroin near Mullapur and arrested the truck driver carrying the drug. The estimated value of the seized drugs is said to be over Rs 100 crore in the international market.

Islamic State militants beheaded British aid worker Alan Henning in a video posted on Friday, triggering swift condemnation by the British and US governments. The footage on YouTube, highlighted on pro-Islamic State Twitter feeds, showed a middle-aged man in an orange jumpsuit kneeling next to a black-clad militant in arid scrubland, similar to past Islamic State beheading videos of two American journalists and a British aid worker.
