Two-day NRI Sammelan kicks off at Anandpur Sahib
The two-day NRI Sammelan 2014, kicked off at Sri Anandpur Sahib on Friday with over 400 delegates from more than 15 countries attending. Day One saw delegates present only on invitation. Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir S Badal & NRI Affairs Minister Bikram Singh Majithia were among those who addressed the large audience that had gathered in the Virasat-E-Khalsa auditorium. Day Two, at Bath Castle, Jalandhar, is set to be an open house.

Slump yes, but better times ahead: PM
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, while admitting to the worrying slump in the Indian economy, has assured NRI investors and entrepreneurs that there is no reason to despair and there are better times ahead.
His inaugural speech at the 12th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, on in New Delhi touched upon inclusive development and path breaking legislation, upholding a clean and transparent governance. The Divas is set to see over a thousand delegates from 7th to the 9th of January.
