NEW DELHI, JULY 25
The Centre is mulling over options to defuse the situation over the creation of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGPC) to prevent any flare-up and the key is the appointment of Kaptan Singh Solanki as the new Governor of Haryana, who will later initiate a review of the Act that created the new body.

Haryana will allow peaceful assembly of pro-Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) activists from Punjab, but any attempt to vitiate the atmosphere will not be tolerated, said Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday.

Shanta Kumar Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and in charge of Punjab BJP affairs Shanta Kumar today briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the discussions he had with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal meant to cool tempers in Punjab and persuade him not to precipitate matters in the wake of the crisis created by the formation of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC).
