A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir, the Army today foiled three intrusion bids in Poonch area in the last 24 hours. The government has decided to come down heavily on hoarders in the national capital. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said a massive crackdown had been ordered against hoarders. He said he had ordered more mobile vans and outlets selling onions, potatoes and vegetables at the government-listed rates.

Monsoon hits Delhi, Punjab, but may not last long
New Delhi, July 3
The much-awaited southwest monsoon finally arrived today over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab, four days after its official onset date. It further advanced into some more parts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, the remaining parts of Punjab and Haryana and some parts of the north Rajasthan, bringing relief to people from soaring temperatures.
