New Delhi, August 23 Fully utilising the opportunity ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, he lashed out at the Congress Party-led governments both at the Centre and Delhi, BJP and Samajwadi Party accusing them of indulging in “appeasement and vote bank politics”. During the course followed by a Q&A session, starting from “secularism in politics”, Batla House encounter, increased power tariffs and corruption, the former revenue service official looked quite comfortable in his bid to connect to young students as he spoke at length about the genesis of AAP and its prime focus on creating a “corruption-free country”. “The country’s youth need to connect with politics and be a part of the political change. Join any political party you wish, be it Congress, BJP, SP or AAP. It is your decision but don’t stay away from it,” he said while informing that nearly 7,000 young boys and girls have joined AAP as volunteers. While referring to the Anna Hazare-led anti-corruption movement that created ripples two years ago, he said, “In our country politics is not secular and all political parties have only worked towards building their vote banks. For two years, the Anna Hazare-led movement for a Jan Lokpal has united people across religions and we are furthering it.” |
