Man held for raping daughter
Panchkula, August 10
The police today arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly raping his 19-year-old daughter.
The accused, Uma Shankar, is a resident of Fatehpur village, Sector 20.
The victim, who was rescued by a police team and advocates of the Legal Aid Clinic, on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, alleged that she was repeatedly raped by her father.

6 cases of vehicle theft cracked

The Chandigarh Police has solved six cases of vehicle theft with the arrest of two persons.
The police has recovered five stolen motorcycles and a scooter from the accused. On August 5, a team of the crime branch laid a trap near Nirman Cinema in Sector 32 and apprehended 24-year-old Raju

A high drama was witnessed near Yavnika Park after a woman caught her husband roaming there with his girlfriend.
The agitated wife called her parents and other relatives, following which the agitated man damaged his car, which he had received in dowry, in full public view.
Man dies in mishap
Panchkula, August 10
A 29-year-old man died, while his wife and four-year-old daughter were seriously injured, when a speeding MUV hit them on the Pinjore road this evening.
The victim, Santosh, was a resident of Rampur Seuri village situated on NH-22 in
Pinjore. He along with his wife, Somwati (27), and daughter was crossing the road to visit a nearby market when the accident took place, the police said.
High-end cars to zoom through city roads today

More than 500 students from 25 polytechnic institutes across Punjab took part in the 11th job fair, organised by
Mohali-based Universal Group of Institutions. The fair was held at at the PHD Chamber in Sector 31. As many as 115 students were shortlisted by companies.
