One killed, 10 injured in road accident

One person was killed and 10 others were injured today in a head-on collision between a van and a bus near Harike, 32 kilometres from here. Lalit Sharma (40) of Jaipur, the van driver, died on the spot while two others travelling with him, identified as Deepak Kumar and his cousin Sagun Lal, received serious injuries.

Doctor booked for sodomy
Hoshiarpur, July 1
The Dasuya police has booked Dr Inderjit Singh of Bala Kulian practicing in Kaison for sodomising a mentally-challenged youth Manjot Singh (20). The police said Manjot Singh was missing from his house. His mother Raj Kaur started searching for him. During the search, she heard the cries of her son. She saw that Dr Inderjit was sodomising her son in his shop.

One person was killed and 10 others were injured today in a head-on collision between a van and a bus near Harike, 32 kilometres from here. Lalit Sharma (40) of Jaipur, the van driver, died on the spot while two others travelling with him, identified as Deepak Kumar and his cousin Sagun Lal, received serious injuries.

Eight people travelling in the bus also received injuries. The injured were admitted to the Civil Hospital, Patti, and the Community Health Centre, Sarhali. The injured were referred to the Guru Nanak Hospital, Amritsar, keeping in view their serious condition. The police has registered a case under Section 304A, 279, 427, 337, 338 of the IPC against the bus driver for negligent driving.

 Doctor booked for sodomy

Hoshiarpur, July 1
The Dasuya police has booked Dr Inderjit Singh of Bala Kulian practicing in Kaison for sodomising a mentally-challenged youth Manjot Singh (20). The police said Manjot Singh was missing from his house. His mother Raj Kaur started searching for him. During the search, she heard the cries of her son. She saw that Dr Inderjit was sodomising her son in his shop. On seeing Raj Kaur, he immediately closed his shop and escaped. After the medical examination of her son she informed the police. The police has registered a case under Section 377 of the IPC. Dr Inderjit Singh is an ex-serviceman.

Three of family booked for dowry

The police has booked Harbhajan Singh, his father Mukhtiar Ram and mother Sheela Devi of Binjon on the complaint of Sunita Devi for torturing her to bring dowry. The police said Sunita Devi was married to Harbhajan Singh in 2010. Her husband went to Dubai for earning his livelihood. His parents also misused the dowry articles given by her parents on her marriage.The police has registered a case under Sections 406 and 498A of the IPC.
