India today sought to play down the recent incident of intrusion by Chinese troops at the Daulat Beg Oldi sector in eastern Ladakh, expressing confidence that the matter would be resolved peacefully between the two countries.

Savita’s husband to seek redress in European courts
The grieving husband of the NRI dentist who died at an Irish hospital after she was denied an early abortion is planning legal action against the hospital through the European courts of justice. Engineer Praveen Halappanavar from Karnataka says University Hospital in Galway, Ireland, breached his wife Savita's right to life and has lashed out at the "horrendous, barbaric and in human" way that she was treated.

Reliance Globalcom close to be sold to PE funds for $1.2 billion
Mumbai, april 20
The Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group Saturday said a consortium of Samena Capital was in last stages of due diligence to buy into its global communications arm Reliance Gobalcom. Once the deal is concluded, it is expected to value Reliance Gobalcom at US$1-1.2 billion, sources close to the developments told IANS here. The company is a division of Reliance Communications.

There appears to be some disquiet in the Army as well as the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) over the repeated incursions by the Chinese troops into this side of the border. The ITBP, deployed along the Himalayas from Ladakh to Diphu La in Arunachal Pradesh, has not been provided with an independent aviation wing to undertake aerial reconnaissance.
