Rain causes inconvenience to commuters

Jalandhar, March 14
A sudden rain during the wee hours on Thursday brought back the chilly in the region. The meteorological department recorded 7.8 mm rainfall. The maximum temperature was recorded as 26.3 degree Celsius while the minimum was 15.3 degree Celsius in Adampur near Jalandhar. According to the weather forecast, the sky will remain partly cloudy during the next 24 hours.

However, the accumulation of rain water on several low-lying areas of the city and in the potholes of various roads caused a lot of inconvenience to the commuters. 

Further, the condition of most of the city roads, worsened due to the accumulation of water. Accumulation of water in potholes on the roads between Kapurthala Chowk and Workshop Chowk, near Jyoti Chowk, Mai Hiran Gate, Garha Road, near Maqsoodan flyover and Transport Nagar flyover created a lot of inconvenience for the citizens.

Similarly water accumulated in potholes and pits on the Ladowali road near the District Administrative Complex (DAC), Preet Nagar Sodal road, Ladowali road to Guru Nanak Pura railway crossing, Gujja Peer road, Avtar Nagar, Kapurthala road and Nakodar road widened after the recent rains. — TNS
