Advocates abstain from work

Jalandhar, March 11
City advocates observed a no-work day today on the call of the Bar Council of India (BCI) to express their solidarity with the lawyers of Chandigarh and Jaipur. They also suspended work on Thursday and Friday to protest against the registration of an FIR against some advocates of Chandigarh for thrashing a head constable.

Meanwhile, many litigants suffered a lot due to the strike. However, many advocates’ munshis (clerks) appeared in courts for getting information about the next date of hearing of the cases. — TNS
