Soon, a programme for developing communication skills of students

With a view to bring in qualitative improvement in the communication skills and to get perfect the speech of the students of government schools, Director General of School Education Kahan Singh Pannu would launch a soft skills development programme titled ‘Josh’ for the students of class eleventh and twelfth from the ensuing academic session.

School holds ‘path’ for class X, XII students

In compliance with the directions of the Director General School Education (DGSE), Kahan Singh Pannu, in which he had asked the schools not to play improper songs during the farewell parties to the outgoing classes, the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Daulatpur, here has set an example by solemnising ‘path’ of Sri Sukhmani Sahib and organising 'langar' for the school students to wish them good luck for the ensuing board examinations and to inculcate moral and cultural values in them.

With a view to bring in qualitative improvement in the communication skills and to get perfect the speech of the students of government schools, Director General of School Education Kahan Singh Pannu would launch a soft skills development programme titled ‘Josh’ for the students of class eleventh and twelfth from the ensuing academic session.

Giving information, District Education Officer Amrik Singh said the emphasis would be on improving the communication skills, personality, telephonic conversation style, interview skills etc of the students through the specially designed programme. It aimed at enabling the students match their skills with the latest trends in the job market in the present era of globalisation, he added.

Under the programme, as many as 100 lectures would be telecast via Edusat (Education Satellite) to the students. Special workshops at block level have also been started for the English teachers from February 20 to 28 for making the programme successful.

EDUSAT Co-ordinator Jagmohan Singh said the programme would prove a boon for the students.

The members of the School Management Committee, village panchayat and prominent citizens also attended the ceremony. The school also honoured the prominent citizens who had been contributing towards the development of the school, said Sunita Salhan, principal of the school.
