Kingfisher Airlines loses flying permit
But says no ‘cause for concern’

New Delhi, January 1
Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines has lost its permit to fly after the deadline to renew the suspended licence expired yesterday. Aviation regulator DGCA confirmed the development which the debt-laden carrier has chosen to dismiss as no “cause for concern”.

New Delhi: Union HRD Minister Shashi Tharoor today favoured making public the identity of the 23-year-old gang-rape victim wondering what interest is served by keeping her name under wraps even as the Congress dismissed the suggestion as his personal opinion.

Patiala rape & suicide: Victim’s cousin quizzed

During the course of the investigations in the Badshahpur gangrape and suicide case, the police today rounded up a distant cousin of the gangrape victim Daljit (name changed), who also got admitted in the hospital after allegedly consuming poison the same night the rape victim was admitted to the hospital after she had consumed poison. The victim later died.

Jaspreet Kaur is a happy woman. She finds some caring that appeared impossible only a month back when she became a proud mother of a baby girl. Today, about 1 pm, she received Rs 5,000 directly into her State Bank of Patiala account as part of the Central government’s Dhan Lakshmi scheme.
