23 killed in suicide blast at Pak MP’s house

At least 23 persons were killed today and 60 others injured, including a prominent opposition PML-N parliamentarian, when a suicide bomber struck at his home in Pakistan’s heartland of Punjab province.

India lodges protest with Sri Lanka
New Delhi, October 6
India today conveyed to Sri Lanka its unhappiness and grave concern over the growing casualties of unarmed Tamil civilians as a result of military action in the island nation. Sri Lankan deputy high commissioner in New Delhi Palitha Ganegoda was summoned by national security adviser M.K.Narayanan and told that the escalation of hostilities in the North and the resultant fallout was leading to a great deal of concern in India.
