Garbage makes Andh Vidhyalaya students’ life hell
A blind eye to trash trouble

The nauseating smell emanating from a garbage dump lying near the building of the more than eight-decade-old Andh Vidhyalaya is leaving its visually challenged students ill. The children cannot study during their classes and are forced to spend sleepless nights in their hostels situated on the upper floor of the building.

Displaying various placards like “save the country,” and “bring greenery in place of bombs” these students were attired as Mahatma Gandhi to mark the occasion of the birth anniversary of the father of nation.

Vehicle-lifters’ gang busted; one held

With the arrest of a man, the district police today claimed to have busted a gang of vehicle lifters and recovered two trucks and an auto from him.

Trials for mega Khalsa sports event from Oct 5

The trials to select players for the Khalsa sports event, being organised under the patronage of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) at Hazoor Sahib Nanded (Maharashtra) on October 31 & November 1, will be held at the Guru Nanak stadium at Ludhiana and Guru Nanak College, Moga, on October 5 & 6, respectively.
