Advani to act on Uma’s reply soon New Delhi, December 4 Ms Bharti, who has been consistently attacking the BJP leadership over selection of Shivraj Singh Chouhan as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, today sent a three-page reply to the show-cause notice issued to her by the party for her conduct during the leadership change in Madhya Pradesh. BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar, however, refused to confirm or deny whether Mr Advani had received Ms Bharti’s reply to the notice, adding that: “Mr Advani will take note of the reply and take action on it in a couple of days.” Ms Bharti was suspended from the BJP and served with the notice after she objected to the central parliamentary board’s decision to nominate Shivraj Singh Chouhan as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister. She also launched a campaign against the party top brass. However, when asked to comment on her statements, the BJP spokesperson said: “She can speak through the media, we will not.” He, however, did add that her criticism of the party was out of “frustration and desperation”. Meanwhile, the stage is set for suspended Uma Bharti’s expulsion with the party convening a meeting of its parliamentary board here tomorrow to consider her response to the show-cause notice and announce its final decision. Though the party has already made up its mind to expel her following her “anti-party” activities in the wake of the leadership change in Madhya Pradesh, her utterances over the past couple of days and her three-page letter attacking the party leadership in response to the show-cause notice appeared to have sealed her fate. |
