Booked
: On the complaint of Kartar Chand of Boore Jattan, the Hariana police has booked Resham Kaur, wife of Ram Lal of Boore, Surinder Lal, his father Darshan Lal and Rano, wife of Chaman Lal, all of Birpvar village, Ram Lal and Ram Dayal, both of Banga, for trying to arrange second marriage of Surinder Lal.

PATIALA
Blood donated: Dedicated Brothers Group, a social organisation, held a blood donation camp here today to commemorate the memory of Subedar Kartar Singh Dhaliwal, father of Samana MLA S.S. Rakhra. Prominent among those who attended the camp was former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal who pinned badges on the donors. More than 40 units were donated by the donors and the camp attracted scores of volunteers. 

ZIRAKPUR
Stolen
: Cash and goods worth thousands of rupees ( Rs 75,000/- approximately) was stolen from the house No 321 of Mr Shri Krishan Chandla, in Gobind Vihar, Baltana. The incident took place on the intervening night of November 19 and 20. Mr Chandla along with his wife had gone to attend the bhog ceremony of one of his relatives at Hoshiarpur when the incident took place.

ELECTED: The following have been elected office-bearers of the Chandigarh Government Electrical Contractors Association: president — Mr S.K. Gupta; vice-president — Mr Manjit Singh; general secretary — Mr Pritam Singh; joint secretary — Mr B.K. Kapania; and treasurer — Mr Sham Rawal. 

PANCHKULA
KILLED: A 40-year-old woman was crushed by a speeding truck at Zirakpur last night, while her husband escaped unhurt. The victim, Sheela Chaudhary, a resident of Panchkula, was to go to Gurgaon. Her husband was on her way to drop her so that she could catch a bus from Zirakpur, when the accident took place. The truck driver, however, escaped from the spot. 

COMMANDOES PASS OUT: As many as 65 trainees passed out from the Commando Training Centre here today. Mr P.V. Rathee, ADGP, CID, Haryana, presided over the function. While 60 cadets are from Haryana police, five cadets are from CISF. Vinod Kumar, Satish Paul and Sunil Kumar were the toppers in the 84 days training course.

FATEHABAD
Man beaten to death
: A man was allegedly beaten to death by his kin after an altercation over irrigation water. Mr Zile Singh, a resident of Buan village in Bhuna block of this district, and son of Kanshi Ram, the deceased, has lodged an FIR with the police that his uncles Ram Kumar, Balbir, Dharambir, and Ram Kumar's sons Balbir and Inder and his wife Krishana took his father to their residence and beat him up mercilessly. He was rushed to Bhuna hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The police has registered a case under Sections 302, 342, 148 and 149 of the IPC and booked six persons in this regard.

Quiz competition
: In view of Geeta Jayanti celebrations, state-level hymn recitation and quiz competitions will be held at Geeta Kendra, Brahma Sarovar, Kurukshetra, on December 8 and 10. Interested students can send their entries to the Chief Executive Officer, Kurukshetra Development Board, Kurukshetra, by December 1.

SONEPAT
Youth kills elder brother
: Quite a stir was caused when Surinder Singh allegedly murdered his elder brother Joginder Singh in his house at Vikas Nagar colony here on Tuesday. According to information, the Sadar police has registered a case against the alleged assailant on the complaint lodged by Ms Beero Devi, wife of the deceased. The police has launched a massive hunt for the accused.

Woman attacked: Ms Babli was injured when she was attacked by her relative at her house at Khewra village, about 13 km from here, on Tuesday. According to information, the injured woman was hospitalised and stated to be out of danger. The police has recorded the statement of the victim and started investigations. However, no arrest has been made in this connection so far.

Student missing: Sandeep, a Class VII student of Indian School, here has been reportedly missing from his house from Tharu Uldepur village since November 14 last. According to information, the student came late to his home on that day and when his mother asked him about late coming, he left the house and never returned. A complaint has been lodged with the police in this regard.

13 hurt in mishap: At least 10 persons, including two women were injured when a three-wheeler carrying them overturned and fell into a deep khud along the Sonepat-Murthal road near Shubham Garden, about 3 km from here, on Tuesday. All injured were hospitalised and stated to be out of danger. The police has registered a case and further investigations were on. According to another report, three persons were injured seriously when the car in which they were travelling was hit by an unknown vehicle on the Sonepat-Murthal road near Shubham Garden, about 3 km from here, on Tuesday. All injured were rushed to the local Civil Hospital. The police has registered a case.

YAMUNANAGAR
Eye check-up camp
: The Rotary Club of Yamunanagar donated a doppler machine and ECG apparatus to the Civil Hospital here on Monday on the concluding day of three-day free eye check-up and treatment camp. During the camp, 172 cataract surgeries were performed. A team of doctors led by Prof C.S. Dhull of PGI, Rohtak, and Dr Alok Sharma of Australia carried out the surgeries. A total of 966 patients reported at the camp and 310 of them were provided with lenses and spectacles, Dr Nikhil Shrivastava, president of the local club, said.
