10 die as truck rolls into gorge

Mandi, October 4
Ten persons were killed and 30 injured, most of them women, when a private local Mazda truck rolled down a 300 ft gorge at Dhayantra, 20 km from here, this evening.

Though those declared dead by the doctors attending the accident victims remained yet to be identified till the filing of this report, Out of the 30 victims identified, 24 were women and two children. Most of the victims belong to Baragaon and Sadla villages in Drang constituency. They were going to Sadla after attending the “gayaltra” birth ceremony of Mr Dhani Ram at Bara Gaon. — TNS

Fodder scam: 10 convicted

A special CBI court today convicted 10 accused in a case related to the multi-crore rupee fodder scam that rocked the undivided Bihar a few years ago. Special CBI Judge Sanjay Prasad in his judgement here today said the 10 accused were found guilty under various sections of the IPC. — UNI
