India, Bangladesh favour CBMs on border
New Delhi, September 27
India and Bangladesh today favoured implementing certain Confidence Building Measures, including increased coordinated patrolling and Wagah border-type ‘retreat ceremony’ at some identified border outposts in the Indo-Bangla border, to defuse tension and skirmishes between the two countries’ border guarding forces.

School Principal booked for banning ‘kirpan’
Ropar, September 27
Following Sikh religious bodies’ ire, the Ropar police today registered a case against the Principal of Shivalik Public School who had banned Sikh students from wearing “kirpan” and “kara”. Besides, Akal Takht Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti sought explanation from the school Principal on the matter in the evening.
