Sex scandal rocks Rajasthan Assembly
Tribune News Service

Jaipur, September 27
The uproar over the alleged involvement of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore in a sex scandal continued to thwart the Rajasthan state Assembly proceedings today also.

The Assembly session, which started yesterday witnessed rowdy scenes created by the Congress-led opposition over the minister’s alleged misconduct and had to be adjourned thrice. Today also, this issue, initially raised by Opposition leader Dr B.D. Kalla dominated the floor. While no question could be answered during the question hour, the Opposition stalled the proceedings and Speaker Ms Sumitra Singh had to adjourn the session three times intermittently.

The Opposition repeatedly pressed for a CBI inquiry against Rajendra Singh Rathore and a thorough probe into the allegations contained in the statement of a pimp carried by a local newspaper.

While Rajendra Singh Rathore has strongly rejected the charges against him, the woman in question at a press conference yesterday stated that she neither knew Rathore nor recognised him. However, the flamboyant Congress MLA, Mr Sanyam Lodha, asserted that the woman gave her statement before the mediapersons under duress.

Meanwhile, Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore is reported to have told Chief Minister to offer his resignation if he was found guilty after investigations in the matter.
