Sensex ends at 8,525 points

Mumbai, September 27 
The benchmark Sensex climbed to a new peak of 8,585.76 points during intra-day trade in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today on brisk buying by foreign as well as domestic institutional investors in blue-chip stocks.

Though the key index ended lower at 8,525.52 points, it still managed a gain of 46.61 points. Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange’s Nifty gained 17.50 points at 2,574.85. The NSE Nifty futures for September were higher by 14.20 points at 2574.10. — PTI
