Panchkula spends good money on
no-good work

Panchkula, November 25
The Municipal Council has spent its annual budget of Rs 7.34 crore, but has nothing to show for it on ground. Ostensibly, the money was spent on carrying out development works in the town, including resurfacing of C-roads, development of parks, maintenance of streetlights, sanitation work and rounding up of stray cattle.

Stray cattle have found a new place to graze in a recently developed park in Sector 10, Panchkula. The Municipal Council has spent over Rs 7 crore on such parks, roads and other civic works this fiscal.

10 more school sites on offer
Chandigarh, November 25
The Chandigarh Administration has decided to advertise school sites in the southern sectors and on the periphery of the city, giving a ray of hope to the schools operating in residential areas.

Guru Granth Sahib translation project launched
Mohali, November 25
The Tamil Nadu Governor, Mr Surjeet Singh Barnala, today launched a Rs 5 crore project that would involve the translation of Guru Granth Sahib into 12 different languages of the country.
