President Kalam accepts Khurana’s resignation
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, October 28
President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has accepted the resignation of Mr Madan Lal Khurana as Governor of Rajasthan.

According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique today, Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar has been asked to discharge the functions of the Rajasthan Governor in addition to his own duties.

Mr Khurana, who had took up the Governorship with much reluctance, had put in his papers on October 25 to return to active politics.

He was also keen on resigning after the Congress-led UPA Government had removed four Governors having leanings with Sangh Parivar.

Mr Khurana had even made two trips to the national capital to meet BJP top leadership to seek their permission to quit the post to save humiliation.
