Centre ready for talks with Bodos
Asks Assam to initiate peace process
New Delhi, October 21
Expressing its willingness to hold tripartite talks with militant group Nationalist Democratic Front of Bodoland, the Centre today asked Assam Government to begin the peace process with “restrained use of force”.

Unidentified gunmen shot dead a National Conference leader and
former minister, Safdar Ali Beigh in his home-town, Anantnag, this
afternoon. According to the
police Safdar Ali Beigh was shot at by some unidentified gunmen near
a shop at Sarnal in Anantnag town at 2-50 p.m.

The flyover on the Panipat-Rohtak National Highway No 71-A, on old Delhi
Branch Canal, collapsed early this morning. However, a major mishap was
averted as no vehicle was passing over the flyover at the time of its
