Haryana to host World Punjabi Conference
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, October 17
The three-day World Punjabi Conference will be held in Haryana, where more than 300 delegates from Pakistan are expected to attend, said the Chairman of the conference and noted Pakistani writer Fakhar Zaman.

The 11th World Punjabi Conference, beginning on December 11, will be held in Kurukshetra, Ambala and Panipat.

The conference will be preceded by an India-Pakistan Punjabi Conference to be held in Patiala from December 1.

Lahore will host the next World Punjabi Conference in April next year. The Pakistani city had hosted the first conference in 1986. Cities like Chandigarh and London have been the previous venues.

Zaman, a former Pakistani minister, said the two conferences, to be held in India, would boost the people-to-people contact between the two countries.
