Standing committee reconstituted

The Centre has reconstituted the standing committee of the Inter-State Council with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh nominating Karnataka Chief Minister Dharam Singh as member in place of former Kerala Chief Minister A. K. Antony.

A notification to this effect has been issued by the Secretary, Inter-State Council, Mr Kamal Pande.

The composition of the 14-member standing committee of the Inter-State Council headed by Home Minister Shivraj Patil is Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, Law and Justice Minister H. R. Bhardwaj, Railway Minister Laloo Prasad, Agriculture, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Minister Sharad Pawar, Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T. R. Baalu, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, Karnataka Chief Minister Dharam Singh, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Orissa Chief Minister Navin Patnaik and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
