Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: East Uttar Pradesh: Gorakhpur 3 and Lucknow 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Jammu and Kashmir, fell markedly in east Uttar Pradesh, fell in west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, largely below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, appreciably below normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 43.8°C recorded at Churu.

Forecast valid until the morning of May 27: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Isolated duststorms/thunderstorms are likely in Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 27: Partly cloudy sky with dust haze. Duststorm/thunderstorm accompanied with squall is likely in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 40°C.
