The police today claimed to have arrested one Harvey (40), an architect, for brutally beating and shooting at his wife in the Safdarjung area of South-West district last night. He then tried to dispose of her body, thinking that she had died. The man has been arrested.

Gang hires Qualis, beats driver to death

Gurgaon, March 2
Manoj Yadav, a resident of village Bhojawas in Mahendragarh district, was killed by the inter-state criminals in Rajasthan about two months ago. His murder has opened a Pandora’s box of problems for his two children and other family members. The murder is shrouded in mystery.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has defended in the Delhi High Court its decision to expel Sharda Jain, prime accused in Congress Councillor Atma Ram Gupta murder case, from the corporation.

The thefts of TATA Qualis’ and other vehicles are on the rise after the announcement of dates of the general elections. It is suspected that the stolen vehicles will be used for election campaigning and other purposes in neighbouring states. Yesterday three cases of vehicle theft were reported in the North-West district.

Notwithstanding the claims of the INLD government to provide all the basic amenities in the rural areas on priority basis, people of the villages in the district have been facing miserable conditions due to shortage of drinking water and irrigation facility, deplorable power condition, inadequate facilities of transportation, potholed-infested roads and mud-spattered streets in the villages.

The poor drainage system and inefficient garbage removal seems to have become the bane of the historic town of Palwal in the district. It has not only been creating environmental problems for a large number of residents, but had come as a major health hazard too.

Consumer has ‘no say’ as cable war breaks in house

Even as consumers are fed up with the steep hike enforced by the cable operators here, the consumers are now being harassed for other reasons. A resident of Sector-29, Mr B.R Singla, has been one such victim of the “mess” created by the cable operators. He has been running from pillar to post to get his cable connection extended in his house.

Three persons held for abduction-cum-murder

With the arrest of three persons, the South district police claimed to have solved a kidnapping-cum-murder case of a 14-year- old-boy from Badarpur on February 23.

Noida: The Noida police have nabbed a dreaded criminal, Shaukat, who was carrying a reward on his head. He was an active member of the Tofique gang, the police said.

Security guard stabbed to death
Ghaziabad, March 2
A security guard in Modi Nagar was stabbed to death by criminals. This is the second murder in the area in the last two days. The guard worked in a spurious diesel factory at Kajpur under Modi Nagar police station. Some criminals intruded into the factory last night.

South African Jacques Kallis tops the world One-Day International cricket batting after his stupendous performance against the West Indies, in the latest Samsung Cricket Ratings.
