Daltonganj, January 1
Four persons — three policemen and a PWG activist — were killed and five injured in a landmine blast by the outlawed People’s War Group (PWG), while a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the PWG activists in Jharkhand and Aurangabad district in neighbouring Bihar late last night. Drug rules amended
New Delhi, January 1
In a bid to streamline procedures for the manufacture and import of new drugs, the government today announced amendment to the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945. Under the amended rules, no institution will be allowed to conduct clinical trials, whether for clinical investigation or experiment, for a new rug without the permission of the Drug Controller-General of India, an official statement said here today.
