Man, daughter booked for fraud

The police have booked a father-daughter duo for committing a fraud of
Rs 53 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Gurdial Singh and Dilpreet Kaur, both residents of Dugri.
Robbers targeting businessmen arrested

With the arrest of three persons, the city police claimed to have busted a gang of robbers.
The accused, identified as Ravi of the Shivpuri area, Sanju of the Shani mandi area and Rahul of Sakhewal Road, targeted businessmen and fled with their valuables.
LIT and its employees can’t part ways easily

Strange are the ways of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) where overstaying by employees has become a rule rather than an exception.

Following the directions of civil surgeon Dr Subhash Batta and under the supervision of Dr Anil Verma, district epidemiologist, a team of 20 breeding checkers, along with insect collectors and multipurpose health supervisor checked the coolers of different areas to detect the breeding of Aedes Egypti (larvae of dengue). In Laxmi Nagar, Haibowal Kalan, larvae were found in two trays of fridge, one drum and one container. The information regarding the same has been passed to the MC officials for issuing fines.

Travel agent booked for fraud

The city police have booked a travel agent of Ramma Mandi in Jalandhar for duping a city resident of Rs 7 lakh.
The case has been registered on the complaint of Gurdeep Singh, a resident of New Kuldeep Nagar. The complainant has stated that the accused identified as Som Nath had taken Rs 7 lakh from him in order to send him to Singapore.
