Leaving no stone unturned to woo voters, not only contestants but stalwarts of their political parties also participated in election campaigns in an effort to change the political wave in their favour today.

Modi wave no more effective: Cong leaders

While the Congress stalwarts from Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, including Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, Himachal; Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, former Chief Minister, Punjab; Jagmohan Singh Kang, former minister, Punjab; and some others, addressed a public rally in favour of Manvir Kaur Gill, a Congress candidate, at Kisan Mandi, Kalka, today.

In her address, Bhattal claimed that the ‘Modi magic’ would no more be effective in Haryana, this time. Haryana progressed by leaps and bound during the Bhupinder Singh Hooda regime and the public had made up its mind to vote the Congress in power for the third time, said Bhattal.

Virbhadra attacked the INLD for dreaming “too big” despite the fact that its supremo is behind the bars at the Tihar Jail. He also alleged that the BJP had lost its base in Haryana as the “Modi wave” lost it intensity.

Appreciating the Hooda government, Singh claimed that it was the only government in the country which provided the highest pension and other allowances to elderly persons, widows, handicapped and other destitutes.

BJP leaders flay Cong, INLD

The poll campaign of the BJP candidate, Latika Sharma, for the Kalka constituency reached a crescendo at a huge rally in Raipur Rani, here, today.

Krishan Pal Gurjar, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Shipping, and MP, Faridabad, and Gajendra Chauhan, TV actor, added colours to the campaign in Raipur Rani today.

Lambasting at the Congress and the INLD governments, Gurjar said: “The Chautalas have looted the state by unleashing a reign of terror during their regime before the Congress came to power. The power hungry INLD chief who is in the Tihar Jail for his involvement in teachers recruitment scam is intending to run the government from the prison.”

“All political leaders have been running their shops in Haryana for themselves and their families. The time has come to get rid of corrupt and criminal elements,” he alleged.

For clean and effective governance, the minister appealed to the gathering to vote for BJP candidate Latika Sharma.

The star campaigner, Chauhan, said, “I want to appeal to you that get rid of Shakuni (Congress) and Duryodhana (INLD) of Haryana and support the BJP for development.”
