Penultimate day of campaigning
BSP candidate attacks rivals by name

Tribune News Service

Kalka, October 12
A day before the election campaign ends, candidates of different political parties have started canvassing aggressively in this Assembly constituency.

These candidates, who were earlier targeting their rival parties, have now started naming their nominees in their speeches.

Satvinder Singh Rana, the BSP candidate who addressed over a dozen public rallies here, attacked the INLD candidate and sitting MLA Pradeep Chaudhary for allegedly not taking up problems concerning residents of the constituency with the Congress-led state government.

“He tried to escape the responsibility by saying that he was an MLA of the opposition party and befooled people claiming that no one listened to him in the government. The sitting MLA was not interested in the development of the area even though his some close relatives were holding ministerial portfolios in the Congress regime,” Rana alleged while addressing a public rally in Tagra village near here.

Terming the Congress as a betrayer, Rana alleged that the party intentionally fielded a weak candidate from the Kalka seat to benefit some individual.

Rana further alleged that the BJP has fielded a parachute candidate from Kalka who does not have any base in the constituency. A group of BJP workers from Naraingarh was campaigning for the party candidate, Latika Sharma, here, he pointed out.

Coming down heavily on the HJC-HJCP alliance, Rana alleged that being with the Congress for over seven years, HJCP chief Venod Sharma hardly spared a thought for the development of Kalka. Now, he has fielded his wife from the constituency.

Rana sought votes while listing the works he did during the last five years and propagating his ‘love’ for the area.

Kalka Votes 2014
Main parties have fielded outsiders, says Independent
Tribune News Service

Kalka, October 12
Vijay Bansal, chief of Shivalik Vikas Manch, Haryana, who is contesting the Kalka seat as an Independent, in his door-to-door campaign alleged that all the political parties have fielded outside candidates.

Bansal claimed that the Congress candidate, Manvir Kaur Gill, was based at Panchkula, BJP candidate Latika Sharma was from Naraingarh but she resides in Delhi, INLD candidate Pradeep Chaudhary was staying in Panchkula and HJCP candidate Shakti Rani Sharma was based at Chandigarh. The BSP candidate Satvinder Singh Rana was from Rajound, he added.

Bansal alleged that all candidates were power hungry and preferred to contest from Kalka considering it to be a soft target. He alleged that the leaders will not ‘show their faces’ after the elections were over and the area residents would again have to face disappointment and same problems.

Bansal, who contested the 2009 Assembly election on the BSP ticket, has raised people-related issues and exposed the ‘wrongdoings’ of the government by gathering information under the RTI Act.

Tribune News Service

Kalka, October 12
Reminding development works carried out in the area during the late Bhajan Lal’s regime, HJC chief Kuldeep Bishnoi appealed to the electorate to wipe out the Congress and the Indian Nation Lok Dal (INLD) for ignoring the Kalka constituency in the past 15 years.

Bishnoi, who reached almost two hours late to addresses a public rally seeking votes for HJC-HJCP candidate Shakti Rani Sharma, claimed that the previous governments even abandoned the projects taken up during the Bhajan Lala government.

The HCJ chief promised to put the Morni and Pinjore areas on the world tourism map if the alliance forms the government.

He also claimed to have personal relations with the area residents and considers the Kalka constituency as his own home.

Blaming the ruling BJP government for price rise and hollow promises by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bishnoi claimed that the ‘Modi magic’ was not going to allure voters this time.

While addressing the rally, Bishnoi claimed that the HCJ-HCJP alliance was going to form the next government as the INLD and the Congress had lost the faith of the people.

He appealed to the gathering to vote for HCJ-HJCP candidate Shakti Rani Sharma for overall development of the constituency.

The leader also listed the promises like abolition of interview system for government jobs, sub-divisional status for Raipur Rani, proper water supply and sewerage system, “pucca” road and streetlights in the rural areas, timely fertilisers and seed to farmers, employment to educated youth, frequent government bus service in the rural areas and some other, made by the alliance in this manifesto.
