Refused for marriage, girl tries to commit suicide

A young girl of the city tried to commit suicide when a boy with whom she was engaged refused to marry her.
As per the information, 24-year-old girl of Khanna got engaged to a boy of Sirhind about four years ago. During this period both the families were in touch with each other. As per the father of the girl, the boy and his family started avoiding them and then they were asked to wait for marriage.
Police fail to nab rape accused

Valmiki Jayanti celebrated
Ludhiana: Bhagwan Valmiki Jayanti was celebrated with great religious fervour at Green Land Convent School, Civil City. A special morning assembly was held to pay tributes to Bhagwan Valmiki. 4 found guilty of dealing in illegal drugs, one held

Four out of seven persons registered under Section 27(C) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and Sections 420/465/468/471 of the IPC have been found guilty of the crime. Meanwhile the other three have been found innocent after the inquiry.
