The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), today gave clearance to the UT Administration’s application seeking UNESCO heritage status for the City Beautiful.

Inflation casts shadow on Ravana’s height

High inflation has cast a shadow on ‘Ravana’. The high cost of material has forced the Dasehra committees at Panchkula and Mohali to reduce the height of Ravana’s effigies this year.
Earlier, the Dasehra committees used to increase the height of structure by one-two feet every year. But this time, the height of Ravana’s statue will be the same like the previous year.

3D digital orthopaedic suite now in Mohali

In perhaps first of its kind in Asia, a Mohali-based hospital today launched a Digital Orthopaedic Suite, having performed over 300 surgeries using the system. The system adds precision to surgeries by allowing to measure size of implants required in knee and hip joint replacement, virtual implanting ahead of actual implantation. It also reflects images of surgery to check correct angles of incision.
