Youth crushed to death
Ludhiana, September 2
A 35-year-old accountant was crushed to death by a speeding truck at Dholewal Flyover today.
The deceased was identified as Mohd Feroz. He was on his way back home. When he reached Dholewal Flyover, a speeding bus hit his motorcycle. Feroz lost control and fell on the road. Before he could react, the bus ran over him. A truck that was following the bus also mowed down the motorcyclist, killing him on the spot.
ATP transferred, but not relieved

On August 29, the news of the transfer of the ATP (Headquarters), Kamaljit Kaur, reached late at night and it was expected that the orders would be received on Tuesday as it was a holiday on Monday.

Portion of illegal building demolished

A portion of an illegal building was razed by officials of the building branch at Jawahar Nagar Camp today. The owner was issued notices, but he did not stop the construction.

GCG shines in PU exams
Students of the Government College for Girls (GCG) shined in the results of MA fine arts-II, which was declared by the Panjab University (PU). Nishtha stood first by scoring 89.93 per cent in the examinations. Sukhreet grabbed second position by scoring 89.5 per cent. Prabhjot stood fourth with 88.25 per cent. Charanjit scored 86.56 per cent and Rupinder scored 86.5 per cent. The principal of college, Gurminder Kaur, congratulated the students and wished them luck for their future.
