Abohar 4 robbers held: Four of a seven-member gang responsible for killing a driver and looting passengers of a luxury bus have been arrested. The bus looted a private bus plying on the Hanumangarh-Haridwar route in Mujaffarnagar district in UP on August 2. The arrested have been identified as Mehtab, Imran, Nitin and Vijay.Four killed in road mishaps: Roop Singh (35), a helper with rural water works near Hanumangarh, and Harsh (3) were killed while Bimla Yadav was injured as a pick-up van reportedly hit their motorcycle here on Monday. In another mishap, two youths, Sunil Poonia and Anil Jat of Luddi Jhabar village (Hanumangarh) were killed and Hari Singh was injured in a collision between a jeep and a motorcycle.Two commit suicide: The body of Vishal, a college student, was found hanging at his house in Purani Abadi, Sriganganagar, on Sunday. In other incident, Yadwinder Singh (34) of Ward No. 10 in the Gajsinghpur segment of Sriganganagar died on Monday after consuming some poisonous substance, the police said.1 held in blackmailing case: The police in Suratgarh (Sriganganagar) on Monday arrested a car driver and booked four others, including husband of a woman police constable, under sections 328, 365, 364A, 387, 394, 397, 148, 149, 427 and 440 of the IPC. Complainant Vinod Kumar was allegedly kidnapped and threatened on gun point to pay Rs 50,000. The deceased, Deepak Sikri, belonged to Nangal. He had been missing since August 11. A complaint was lodged against his Mohali-based employer. His relatives held a protest against the police alleging negligence on their part. They alleged Deepak's employer Vijay Kumar had been harassing him.
